The SCA started off the new academic year with an online webinar with the former Israeli Diplomat Mr. Elad Ratson on Algorithmic Diplomacy. He illustrated how policymakers and diplomats are being put in the shoes of computer engineers due to a lack of cyber regulations.
Mr. Ratson is a diplomat, a Digital Diplomacy expert, and the former Head of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Data Diplomacy R&D Unit. His research fields include the effects of social media and algorithms on politics, diplomacy and international relations. He is known as the pioneer of Algorithmic Diplomacy and has focused on confronting echo chambers and information bubbles on social media.
